Bakhtiyar Aslanbayli: No decision made on further actions regarding Shafag-Asiman structure

It is necessary to drill a lateral branch from a previously constructed exploration well at the promising Shafag-Asiman structure in order to better understand the hydrocarbon reserves that were discovered there as a result of exploration, Bakhtiyar Aslanbayli, Vice President of BP for External Relations and Communications in the Caspian region, told Report.

“When drilling the first exploration well, data were obtained, which were then processed and interpreted. Once interpretation is complete, a sidetrack decision will be made,” said Aslanbayli.

According to the vice president, during the drilling of an exploratory well, hydrocarbons were discovered: "The results obtained during the drilling of the first well are being analyzed, which will allow us to decide on future plans," he added.
