Azerbaijan to participate in FT Commodities Global Summit 2025

A delegation from SOCAR Trading, a subsidiary of Azerbaijan's State Oil Company (SOCAR), will take part in the 2025 FT Commodities Global Summit, scheduled to be held from March 24 to 26 in Lausanne, Switzerland.

The company told Report that Taghi Taghi-Zada, SOCAR Trading's acting Chief Trading Officer, will speak at the panel discussion "Oil - Are prices stabilising to a new normal?"

Also attending the summit will be Julie Noller, Carbon Trader at SOCAR Trading, who will participate in the panel "The Future of Carbon Markets in a Regulated Global Framework" ," and Antoine Sevray, Head Trade and Structured Finance at SOCAR Trading, will participate in the panel "Risk, rates, liquidity, and inflation - A challenging time for commodity trade finance," on March 25.

Key themes of the 2025 summit will include "Conflicts, Security, and Commodities: How Wars and Rising Protectionism Are Changing Trade Routes and Raw Material Demand" and "The Future of the Energy Value Chain: From Oil to Chemicals." Discussions will cover critical industry challenges and opportunities, including geopolitics and commodities, the impact of global conflicts on trade routes and supply chains, the resilience of supply chains, strategies for enhancing stability amid economic and political instability, the energy transition, and the influence of environmental regulations on commodity markets and investment strategies.

The summit will feature over 85 speakers and 450 industry representatives.
