Azerbaijan's RON-92 gasoline imports rise by almost half

Azerbaijan imported over 43,668 tons of RON-92 gasoline, valued at more than $35.92 million, during the first seven months of 2024, Report informs, citing the country's State Statistical Committee.

The data shows that the imports rose by 48.6 percent in volume and 53.7 percent in value compared to the corresponding period in 2023.

In January-July of this year, Azerbaijan imported more than 38,534 tons of RON-92 gasoline worth over $30.62 million from Russia, marking a 5.1-fold increase in volume and a 6.7-fold surge in value year-on-year.

Meanwhile, the remaining 5,134 tons worth $5.3 million were imported from Bulgaria (no supply a year ago).

During the reporting period, Russia accounted for 88.2 percent of Azerbaijan's total RON-92 gasoline imports.

SOCAR's Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery, as the only oil refinery in the region, provides Azerbaijan with fuel products such as RON-92, diesel, jet fuel, and raw materials.
