Azerbaijan's income from polypropylene exports down by over 15%

In October 2022, Azerbaijan exported polypropylene in primary form for $8.9 million, Report informs, citing the Export Review of the Center for Analysis and Communication of Economic Reforms.

According to the review, this is $0.6 million or 6.3% less than in October 2021.

From January through October 2022, Azerbaijan exported polypropylene in primary form for $81.3 million, $15.1 million or 15.6% less year-on-year.

In January-October 2022, Azerbaijan's total exports amounted to $34.7 billion, and the exports of the non-oil sector reached $2.4 billion.

Polypropylene is produced at the Polypropylene Plant of SOCAR Polymer LLC, with an annual production capacity of 184,000 tons. The plant's opening took place on July 18, 2018, in the presence of Azerbaijani President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of Italy Sergio Mattarella. The export of polypropylene started on October 5 of that year.
