Azerbaijan's income from polypropylene exports down by about 7%

In January 2023, Azerbaijan exported polypropylene in primary form for $9.6 million, down $0.7 million or 6.8% from as year earlier, Report informs, citing the Export Review of the Center for Analysis and Communication of Economic Reforms.

In January 2023, Azerbaijan's total exports amounted to $1.9 billion, and the exports of the non-oil sector made up $284.5 million.

Polypropylene is produced at the Polypropylene Plant of SOCAR Polymer LLC, with an annual production capacity of 184,000 tons. The plant's opening took place on July 18, 2018, in the presence of Azerbaijani President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of Italy Sergio Mattarella. The export of polypropylene started on October 5 of that year.
