The Azerbaijani Milli Majlis (Parliament) has passed amendments to the "Law on Efficient Use of Energy Resources and Energy Efficiency" during its third reading in today’s plenary meeting.
According to Report, the new legislation prohibits the import, production, and sale of incandescent light bulbs used for lighting in alternating current circuits. Exceptions are made for incandescent light bulbs intended for special industrial purposes or products primarily designed for uses other than lighting.
The ban will be implemented in two stages:

- From July 1, 2026: The ban will extend to incandescent lamps ranging from 25 watts (including 25 watts) to 60 watts.
