Azerbaijan posts about 50% growth in AI-95 gasoline imports

Azerbaijan imported 18,563.09 tons of AI-95 (premium) motor gasoline worth over $18 million in the first quarter of this year, Report informs, referring to State Statistical Committee.
According to the committee’s data, this is an increase of 48.1% in volume and 55.1% in value compared to the corresponding period of 2023.
During the reporting period, Russia accounted for 62.7% of the total imports, valued at approximately $10.9 million and weighing 11,645.48 tons, representing an increase of 12.1% in value and 9.3% in volume from same period last year.
The remaining imports were distributed among the following countries: Greece supplied 1,111.14 tons worth $1.13 million, Bulgaria – 1,288.34 tons worth $1.45 million, Romania – 1,645.35 tons worth $1.74 million, the UAE – 782.77 tons worth $697,450, and Belarus – 2,090 tons worth $2 million.
Meanwhile, the import of AI-98 gasoline to Azerbaijan stood at 375.17 tons with a total value of $459,950 in the period of January-March 2024. The entire volume of supply fell to the share of Romania.
The import of AI-95 and AI-98 motor gasolines to Azerbaijan started on April 1, 2014.
