Azerbaijan increases profits from polypropylene exports by 16%

In January-March 2022, Azerbaijan exported 20,960 tons of polypropylene in primary forms worth $31.112 million, down 12.6% and up 16.1%, Report informs, citing the State Customs Committee.
Polypropylene accounted for 4.3% of exports in the non-oil sector and 0.4% of the country's total exports.
The SOCAR Polymer project includes polypropylene plants with an annual capacity of 184,000 tons and high-density polyethylene plants with a yearly capacity of 120,000 tons. The polypropylene plant was commissioned on July 18, 2018, with the participation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Italian President Sergio Mattarella. Export of polypropylene started on October 5.
