Azerbaijan increases methanol production by 43%

From January through November 2022, a total of 489,500 tons of methanol (methyl alcohol) were produced in Azerbaijan, 43.3% more year on year, Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistics Committee.

As of December 1, 2022, the finished products made up 44,500 tons.

Methanol production is carried out at the Methanol Plant of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) in the Garadagh district, near Baku.

The Methanol Plant was commissioned in 2013.
