Azerbaijan imports RON 98 gasoline from Lithuania for first time

From January through September 2021, Azerbaijan imported 2,291 tons of RON 98 (Super) gasoline for $1.99 million, Report informs with reference to the State Statistical Committee.

These figures show an increase of 33.1% in value and 17.3% in quantity compared to last year's same period.

In September, Azerbaijan's RON 98 imports increased by 46.5% and 37.7%, respectively. It was due to the purchase of 627.06 tons of RON 98 gasoline from Lithuania for over $633,000. It is the first time that Azerbaijan has imported gasoline from this Baltic country.

During the reported period, Azerbaijan supplied 1,325 tons of gasoline for $1.076 million from Romania, 237.45 tons worth $196,460 from Belarus, and 100.83 tons of RON 98 gasoline for over $90,330 from Greece. Thus, 57.87% of total imports fell to the share of Romania, 23.37% to Lithuania, 10.36% to Belarus, and 4.4% to Greece.
