Azerbaijan discloses figures of electricity exports

From January to July this year, Azerbaijan exported 737.47 million kWh of electricity worth $41.61 million, Report informs, citing the State Customs Committee.
Compared to the same period in 2024, the export value fell by 19.7%, while the volume dropped by 21.6%.
Electricity accounted for 2.23% of the total exports of Azerbaijan’s non-oil products.
In July alone, Azerbaijan exported 57.62 million kWh of electricity valued at $3.05 million — 4.3 times and 3.5 times more, respectively, than in the same month last year.
In recent years, Türkiye has been the top importer of Azerbaijani electricity, transmitted via Georgia. In earlier years, small volumes also reached European countries through Türkiye. In the near future, Azerbaijan plans to begin electricity exports to Türkiye via Nakhchivan.
Overall, in the seven months of 2025, Azerbaijan conducted $28.84 billion in trade operations with foreign countries — up 7.25% year-on-year. Of this, $15.23 billion came from exports and $13.61 billion from imports. Compared to the same period last year, exports declined by 5.4%, while imports rose by 26.15%.
