Azerbaijan decreases methanol production by 21% in 2021

In 2021, Azerbaijan produced 378,200 tons of methanol, 20.6% less than a year earlier, Report informs referring to the State Statistics Committee.

As of September 1, finished products made up 11,800 tons.

Methanol production is carried out at the methanol plant of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) in the Garadagh district of Baku. The methanol plant was commissioned in 2013, transferred under the management of SOCAR Methanol LLC since 2016, and since August 2017 became the company’s property.

The maximum productivity of the plant is 650,000-700,000 tons of methanol per year.
