Azerbaijan boosts gas exports to Türkiye by about 5%

In December 2022, Azerbaijan exported 784.39 million cubic meters of gas to Türkiye, up 4.96% from the previous year, Report informs, citing Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA).

Thus, Azerbaijan became the third gas supplier to Türkiye, with a share of 13.5% in Türkiye’s gas market.

Gas exports from Azerbaijan to Türkiye throughout 2022 totaled 8,709.98 million cubic meters, 1.3% less than a year earlier.

In December 2022, Türkiye imported 5,808.85 million cubic meters of gas in total, showing a 60.7% decline compared to the same period in 2021.

Russia ranked first with the export of 2,041.45 million cubic meters of gas to Türkiye, which is 1.22% less than a year ago.

Iran exported 800.44 million cubic meters of gas in December, down 6.39% from December 2021.
