Azerbaijan-based TPSs increase electricity production by 7%

In January-May 2023, the electricity production in the Thermal Power Stations (TPS) increased made up 11,055.1 million kWh, up 728.8 million kWh, or 7.06%, from the previous year, Report informs, citing the Ministry of Energy.

The production in the Hydro Power Stations (HPS) went down by 96.5 million kWh to 672.3 million kWh, and in other sources fell by 3 million kWh to 159.1 million kWh.

The Wind Power Stations (WPS) produced 26.4 million kWh of electricity Solar Power Stations (SPS) – 25.4 million kWh, and the Solid Waste Incineration Plant – 107.3 million kWh.

In the reporting period, Azerenergy JSC produced 10,667.4 million kWh (10,054.4 million kWh in TPSs, 623 million kWh in HPSs), Nakhchivan AR State Energy Service – 176 million kWh (108.9 million kWh in TPSs, 43.9 million kWh in HPSs, and 23.2 million kWh in SPSs), Azerishiq OJSC – 20.3 million kWh in WPSs, and 1,022.8 million kWh in independent power plants.
