Abdulla Balalaa: UAE plans to increase energy efficiency to 45%

The UAE plans to update its energy strategy until 2050 and increase energy efficiency up to 45%, Assistant Minister for Energy and Sustainability Affairs at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Balalaa said at the ministerial dialogue on "Scaling Investments to Triple Renewable Energy and Double Energy Efficiency" within COP29, Report informs.
He noted that the UAE has achieved significant progress towards zero emissions in the energy sector.
"We are also aimed at further reducing the grid emission factor, which will make the UAE one of the countries with the lowest emission levels. We strive to be a role model in an ambitious but pragmatic transition to clean energy sources," he added.
