Seven Azerbaijanis study in China's coronavirus - stricken area - OFFICIAL

"Nearly 500 Azerbaijanis study in China today, with 62 through the state line. Seven Azerbaijanis study in the coronavirus - stricken area," Minister of Education Jeyhun Bayramov said at a press conference today.

He said the Ministry of Education keeps in touch with the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijani embassy in China for the evacuation and the condition of students in the quarantine area.

The minister said contact with the student was maintained through the embassy.

"According to our information, more than 50 countries appealed to China for the evacuation of their citizens. As the Foreign Ministry told us, the Foreign Ministry of China will hold a session today. A statement on the further steps of the Chinese side will be made after the session, and the next steps will follow the statement. We will keep this issue in the spotlight."
