Education Ministry: No admission for new or renamed specialties this year

Baku. 14 February. REPORT.AZ/ "This year there will be no admission to newly-created or renamed specialties on the basis of the 'Classification of specialties on the level of Bachelor's degree approved by the Cabinet of Ministers'," Deputy chief of staff of the Ministry of Education Yagub Piriyev said.

According to him, the adoption based on the new rule is intended for 2020-2021 academic year: "These classifications were generated within three years through analysis and surveys.

Piriyev added that in the future the Master's degree will be classified in the following specialties: "Based on the classification in the Bachelor's degree, the existing specialties will also be reviewed in the Master's degree and will be amended correspondingly. The process will begin either this or next year. Prior to the change, there were some specialties that were not revised for 10 years. Cancellation of specialties will not affect graduates. Only new content of these specialties will be created."
