During the restoration and construction works carried out by the State Tourism Agency in the historical monument functioning as a shabaka (window) shop located in the territory of the Yukhari Bash State Historical and Architectural Reserve in Shaki city, skeletons belonging to children were discovered at a depth of 80-120 cm while the concrete floor was being repaired inside the building, Report informs, citing the Institute of Archaeology, Ethnography, and Anthropology of ANAS.
While talking with the locals together with the employees of the State Tourism Agency, it turned out that the building served as a morgue for a long time during the Soviet era. Currently, criminologists are studying the discovered skeletons.
