Work underway to create national park in Gakh, Shaki and Samukh

Work has begun on the creation of a national park at the foot of the Ahar-Bahar mountain range in the Gakh, Shaki and Samukh districts, Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Vugar Karimov said.

According to Report's southern bureau, the deputy minister was speaking at a scientific and practical conference in Lankaran on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the creation of the Hirkan National Park.

According to him, work is now underway to clarify the maps.

Karimov also noted that after the creation of the national park on the basis of the Hirkan State Reserve, the increase in its territory and the expansion of infrastructure, the interest of both local and foreign tourists in the national park increased.
