The Caspian Sea remains one of the least explored regions on the planet, Taleh Ziyadov, General Director of the Baku International Sea Trade Port CJSC, said during the Caspian Blue Horizons Workshop, an event dedicated to fostering synergy between science and business for the sustainability of the climate and the Caspian Sea, in the lead-up to COP29.
According to Report, Ziyadov emphasized the scarcity of research conducted in the Caspian basin, with the last comprehensive studies dating back to the 1970s.
"Climate change is a pressing issue for this region," Ziyadov stressed. "It is crucial to collaborate on this matter and attract international investments, as well as representatives from the academic and scientific community, to the region," he said.
