Rafiq Verdiyev: Preparations underway to create new early warning system

A new early warning system for hydrometeorological phenomena will be created in line with modern standards, Deputy Head of the National Hydrometeorological Service Rafiq Verdiyev said, according to Report.

Verdiyev noted that once this system is set up, it will help receive data on mudflows and floods much earlier. This will create conditions for earlier warning, both to ensure people's health and protect agricultural land: "Over the past 3 years, the National Hydrometeorological Center has installed more than 40 hydrological automatic stations on the country's rivers, which allow us to observe both floods and natural phenomena at any time. The data and related reports we have received from the radars installed in recent years have been sent to the Green Climate Fund. We also exchange information with a number of other international organizations."
