The President of the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly, Maria Fernanda Espinosa, called for the reduction of harmful emissions into the atmosphere to save the planet and stop climate change.
Report informs that she made the statement at the panel session "“Combating Climate Change and Meeting the Global Need for Energy: How do we do both?" within the framework of the VIII Global Baku Forum.
She also noted the impact of the oil industry on the ecology of the planet, and stressed the need for oil-rich countries to tackle this global challenge.
However, according to her, energy is not the only sector that needs transformations to preserve the environment. She called on the world community to save the Earth.
