Over 6,000 tourists visited Azerbaijan's national parks during holidays

As many as 6,482 tourists visited national parks in Azerbaijan during the holidays, the head of the Biological Diversity Protection Service, Khalig Mirzayev told Report.

Mirzayev said that ecological tourism is the most popular recreation option in the world: "We can already say that ecotourism is developing rapidly in Azerbaijan. The local population now attaches more importance to relaxing in the lap of nature than in previous years. Azerbaijan has a network of national parks with great ecotourism potential, and the number of people traveling to national parks is increasing year by year."

The head of the service emphasized that the development dynamics of citizens' visits to national parks are mainly manifested during the holidays: "Thus, 6,482 tourists visited national parks located in different regions of the country during the holidays, which is significantly more than the same period last year. There are 10 national parks in Azerbaijan with rich natural landscapes and unique ecosystems."
