MENR: Appeal will be made to court for closure of workshop polluting air

Baku. 24 October. REPORT.AZ/ The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources has again received a complaint regarding the smoke in the air from the metal molding workshop operating at the Bakı Elektriktökmə OJSC, Report informs citing the press service of the ministry.

Experts from the National Monitoring Department on Environment of the Ministry monitored the area again and sampled the atmospheric air.

Notably, in September of this year the employees of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources fined the owner of the metal molding workshop Mammad Alakbarov in the amount of AZN 3000 AZN for the air pollution. He was given the mandatory instruction associated with the installation of a cleaning device that meets modern standards.

However, as Alakbarov did not fulfill the mandate given to him in September and was fined again in the amount of AZN 4800. Documentary work is underway to appeal to the court for the closure of the workshop.
