Ecology Minister: Increasing greenery is key to absorbing atmospheric emissions

Increasing greenery is the best way to absorb emissions released into the atmosphere, Azerbaijani Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Mukhtar Babayev told journalists, Report informs.

He noted that efforts are underway to expand green areas and create greenery along roads as part of improvement initiatives.

"Most atmospheric emissions come from transport. In this regard, stimulating new types of transport and increasing the number of electric and hybrid cars also positively impacts the atmosphere. The use of electric and hybrid cars has gained popularity, and I believe their adoption will continue to grow as the state provides significant opportunities and incentive programs," Babayev explained.

The minister also highlighted the implementation of an old vehicle utilization program. Additionally, raising public awareness and expanding promotional efforts will further enhance this process, he added.
