Azerbaijan, a country rich in natural resources, faces significant climate challenges, according to Fatima Fataliyeva, the Sustainable Development Manager for COP29.
"However, startups focused on sustainable development technologies may hold the key to overcoming these hurdles," she said, according to Report.
Speaking at the "Sustainable Future. Youth Green Innovations" conference during the Baku Climate Action Week, Fataliyeva emphasized that startups can not only help solve climate problems but also tap into new markets and opportunities.
"The government supports green initiatives by offering various incentives for businesses that prioritize sustainable development, creating a favorable environment for innovation and startup growth," she stated.
Fataliyeva highlighted that if Azerbaijani entrepreneurs focus their ideas on renewable energy sources, they can gain a competitive advantage in the market.
"By concentrating on areas such as renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, and eco-friendly manufacturing, startups can contribute to environmental sustainability while also gaining a competitive edge," she concluded.
