Bears to be microchipped in Azerbaijan

The bears undergoing surgery will be microchipped for identification, Magdalena Scherk-Trettin, the project manager of the animal protection organization Four Paws Global International, told Report.

She said that the organization is engaged in rescuing animals all over the world: “When we heard about the bears undergoing rehabilitation in Azerbaijan, we came to your country to examine them. At present, we have performed operations on several bears here.”

Magdalena Scherk-Trettin stressed that microchips are usually placed on bears undergoing surgery, and this is the practice all over the world: “Microchips are necessary for identification.”
