Environmental pollution kills millions of people every year, said Sadig Gurbanov, Azerbaijani MP, Chairman of Milli Majlis (Parliament) Committee for Natural Resources, Energy and Ecology, Report informs.

Gurbanov made the remark during his speech at the "Green World Solidarity: Waste to Value for a Sustainable Future" International Forum

He underlined that Azerbaijan is one of the leading countries in solving issues of concern to the world.

"This is also a matter of pride. Solving problems arising from global climate change is not an easy task. But it is not the only issue we face,” he added.

The MP also pointed out that life depends on water: "But water is one of the resources people misuse the most. Water pollution is a serious problem."

"We are trying to create a legal framework for waste management in Milli Majlis. This is the demand of the time. Because human cannot live without nature. But nature can live without man," Gurbanov highlighted.
