Azerbaijan introduces moratorium on fishing from May 1

In connection with the spawning season, a moratorium on catching fish in all inland waters - rivers, lakes, reservoirs, comes into force in Azerbaijan from May 1 and will last until September 1, Head of the State Environmental Security Service Hikmat Alizada said, Report informs.
He noted that in order to prevent illegal fishing, regular raids are carried out together with the water transport police department.
He called on individuals and legal entities that are engaged in fishing to comply with the rules during the moratorium.
