Azerbaijanis are heading to the polls to elect a new parliament in snap elections.
As of 10:00 AM, the Gazakh electoral district No 109 has recorded the highest voter turnout at 17.7%, with 8,646 people having already cast their ballots.
On the other hand, the Sumgayit second electoral district No 43 has seen the lowest turnout so far, with only 2.4% (1,169 people) of eligible voters showing up at the polls.
The snap parliamentary elections are being held across 6,478 polling stations, including 54 stations in the recently liberated territories. Voting began at 8:00 AM and will conclude at 7:00 PM.
A total of 990 candidates are competing for 125 seats in the Milli Majlis, Azerbaijan's parliament. The country has 6,421,960 registered voters who are eligible to participate in these elections.
