A week of urban planning is starting in Azerbaijan, as part of which the second urban planning forum will be held in Baku and Zangilan, Report informs.
The move was discussed at the meeting of Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with Executive Director of the United Nations Human Settlements Program (UN-Habitat) Maimunah Mohd Sharif within the high-level week of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly.
The parties expressed satisfaction with the organization, jointly with UN-Habitat, of the Azerbaijan National Urban Forum in October last year.
It was noted that from September 29, Azerbaijan will host an urban planning week, within the framework of which a number of high-level events will be organized jointly with UN-Habitat. Among them is the II Azerbaijan National Urban Forum on the topic “Sustainable cities as a leading force for economic development and the fight against inequality,” which will be held in Zangilan and Baku from September 29 to October 1.
It was also emphasized that as part of the forum, the World Habitat Day events would be held in Azerbaijan for the first time.
