President's representative: New development directions of Nakhchivan will be determined

The economic and transit importance of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic will increase, and new directions of development will be determined, the plenipotentiary representative of the President of Azerbaijan in Nakhchivan, Fuad Najafli, said speaking at the ninth session of the Supreme Assembly of the Autonomous Republic, Report informs.

He said that the large-scale socio-economic reforms implemented by President Ilham Aliyev and the national priorities defined by him have brought the country to a new development period: "Ensuring stability in macroeconomic development and increasing economic potential further strengthens Azerbaijan's integration and position in the world community."

According to Najafli, today, the determined position of the head of state regarding the opening of the Zangazur Corridor and the farsighted policy increase the importance of Azerbaijan as the main geo-economic center of Europe and Asia and reveal new approaches in regional economic diversification that are in line with Azerbaijan's national interests: "Undoubtedly, the biggest importance of the Zangazur corridor will be to provide a direct connection between the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and other economic regions of our country. It will increase the economic and transit importance of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and help determine new directions of development."
