President Ilham Aliyev awards three servicemen of State Border Service posthumously

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has awared three employees of the State Border Service (SBS) who died while performing their duties.

According to Report, the head of state awarded the 3rd degree ‘Merit to the Fatherland’ order to Ensign Aliyev Rufat Fizuli oghlu who was martyred during the Patriotic War.

Major Bakhishli Bakhish Elshan oghlu and soldier Naghiyev Ali Elshan oghlu, both killed by lightning in Lachin in June 2024, were awarded the Medal ‘For Fatherland’ and the Medal ‘For Military Services,’ respectively.

On August 17, President Ilham Aliyev signed the decree "On awarding military personnel of the State Border Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan".
