Those responsible for Meshali genocide will be brought to justice according to Azerbaijani laws - OPINION

War criminal Vagif Khachaturyan, who is wanted internationally in connection with the genocide committed in Meshali village of the Khojaly district, was detained at the Lachin border crossing point and brought under investigation. It suggests that other criminals will also be brought to justice according to Azerbaijani laws, Galib Guliyev, the editor of Khojalynin Sesi (Voice of Khojaly) newspaper, told Report.

He said that the residents of Khojaly never lost hope that they would return to their homeland and take revenge on the enemy: "We felt that day was coming up. Because the successful domestic and foreign policy of President Ilham Aliyev gave us reason to say this. We are thankful that we took our revenge on the enemy in the Patriotic War and restored historical justice. During the Patriotic War, we found spiritual comfort when the Khojaly killers were destroyed. We believed that Armenian criminals would receive their deserved punishment according to Azerbaijani laws, just as we took our revenge on the battlefield. That day has already arrived."

The editor said that killing those responsible for the Khojaly genocide with a single bullet would be an easy punishment for them: "However, the fact that they will be brought to justice according to Azerbaijani laws and reveal their dirty intentions before the international community is another victory for us. Today we have a strong state and a victorious army. During the Patriotic War, we took our revenge on the enemy on the battlefield. Our struggle continues in the diplomatic field, the political arena and information space. This fight, the victory, is many times better for us than to shoot them with a bullet. Because all the war criminals and Khojaly killers must be held accountable for their actions."
