Ombudsman suggests reducing retirement age for women in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan's Human Rights Commissioner (Ombudsman) has suggested changes to the law 'On labor pensions' through reducing the retirement age for women to 63 years, Report informs.

According to Ombudsman's 2022 report, considering the role of women in Azerbaijani society and family, the responsibilities she bears, it is inexpedient to gradually increase the pension age for working women to 65 by the summer of 2027.

It was noted that this prompts the need to reduce the retirement age for women.
