The staff of the Ombudsman's Office are conducting independent monitoring and observation of the snap parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan, Ombudsman Sabina Aliyeva told journalists, Report informs.
Aliyeva noted that the Ombudsman's Office employees are observing the elections on their own initiative, covering Baku city, regions, liberated territories, military units, and correctional institutions. "Currently, we are observing the provision of voting rights for prisoners in correctional facilities. Comprehensive information about the results of the observation will be provided to the public," she added.
Prisoners and detained individuals are voting freely and independently at 26 polling stations across 13 constituencies in penitentiary institutions.
