ODIHR requests over 300 observers for parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan

The OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) has requested over 300 observers from the participating states for the snap parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan, Report informs, citing diplomatic sources.

It was mentioned that 30 observers were requested for the long-term mission and 280 for the short-term mission.

On June 28, President Ilham Aliyev signed the Decree on the dissolution of the sixth convocation of the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament) and the appointment of early elections to the Milli Majlis. By decree, early elections were scheduled for September 1, 2024.
