"We are living very happy moments. We have liberated the lands that were under occupation for 30 years. This is the second Novruz holiday that we celebrate in Karabakh's liberated lands. Last year, President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva lit a holiday bonfire in Shusha, and this year in Sugovushan. We are witnessing great moments. Because our people have been longing for these days for 30 years. Every Novruz and other national holidays, we wished to return to those lands and wave our flag in Shusha. This is the day we have achieved our dreams," Member of Parliament Azer Badamov told Report.
According to him, the visit of President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva to the liberated lands gives a new spirit to those places: "The foundation of many infrastructure projects is laid during each visit. This means that we will return our refugees and IDPs to those territories soon. In my opinion, by living in such a modern place, people who have lived as IDPs for 30 years will make up for the difficulties of those days."
He stressed that Azerbaijan is no longer the country it was 30 years ago: "Azerbaijan's current strength is enough to defend its lands and is ready to respond to any foreign interference. Along with all this, the stability of our country's economy means that we have both liberated the lands and are carrying out restoration work there. Azerbaijan maintains its dynamic development."
President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva visited the Sugovushan settlement of the Tartar district and lit a holiday bonfire. The head of state also laid the foundation of a number of new infrastructure projects.
