The following meeting of the state commission established to investigate the causes of the AZAL airplane crash in Kazakhstan was held on December 27 in Baku, the Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers told Report.
The Commission Chair, Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov stated that the commission will review the work done so far to eliminate the consequences of the accident and the tasks ahead.
Information was provided about the measures taken and work to be done regarding the provision of necessary assistance to those injured in the accident.
Reports of the commission members were heard according to their authority.
Commission members provided information about bringing the injured and bodies of the deceased to Azerbaijan, the burial of the deceased, and the ongoing treatment of citizens in serious condition in Aktau.
It was reported that necessary measures were taken to bring and bury the bodies of 4 out of 26 Azerbaijani citizens who died in the accident. Issues related to bringing the bodies of the other 22 deceased persons to the country soon after forensic examination and other necessary measures were discussed.
Commission members were instructed to quickly resolve issues related to providing necessary financial assistance and moral-psychological support to those injured in the plane crash and the families of the deceased.
It was noted that investigation measures continue within the special commission created by Kazakhstan to investigate the causes of the incident. It was emphasized that Azerbaijan's firm position is that the causes of the accident should be investigated transparently, objectively and comprehensively, and the public should be informed about the results of the investigation.
