Azerbaijan is conducting parliamentary elections on its entire sovereign territory, recognized under international law, for the first time, Mazahir Panahov, the Chairman of Azerbaijan's Central Election Commission (CEC), told journalists, according to Report.

Panahov highlighted the substantial progress made in preparing electoral documents for the elections. He stressed the necessity of aligning the electoral process with international norms, given the historic nature of these elections.

"The participation of international observers is crucial in ensuring the elections adhere to international standards," Panahov said.

Remarkably, around 100,000 local and international observers usually monitor elections in Azerbaijan.
