President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, and first lady Mehriban Aliyeva have attended the inauguration of Children's Art School No. 2, named after Vagif Mustafazade, in Yasamal district, Baku after a significant overhaul, Report says.
Children's Arts School was built in 1904, and in 2020 the Heydar Aliyev Foundation renovated the building.
At present, 385 students study piano, violin, guitar, clarinet, saxophone, vocals, singer, tar, kamancha, accordion, drum, painting, choreography, theory, and teaching auxiliary subjects, and 78 teachers are engaged in their training. All classrooms of the school are provided with visual aids. The art school's two-story building has 15 individual classrooms, theory rooms, a library, a tailor's room, a conference hall, art rooms, a choreography room, a dining room, and a recording studio. The school has established a "Vagif Mustafazadeh corner".
The world-famous jazz master Vagif Mustafazadeh studied piano here in 1949-1956. Many prominent Azerbaijani composers and artists were students of this school.
