GUAM rep: Presidential elections in Azerbaijan being held within democratic norms

Extraordinary presidential elections in Azerbaijan are being held within the norms of democracy and transparency, Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Mykhailo Papiev, who arrived in Azerbaijan to observe the elections as part of the GUAM delegation, told Report.

“We have already visited polling stations in Sumgayit, now we are in Baku [at polling station N34]. During our observations, we communicated with citizens, there are no comments on the elections. Everything is taking place within the democratic norms,” he said.

He noted that elections in Azerbaijan fully comply with international electoral standards.
