Ruben Vardanyan's prison term extended - UPDATED

The term of the detention measure chosen against the state minister of the former so-called organization in Karabakh, Ruben Vardanyan, has been extended, Report informs.

The detention measure chosen for him has been extended for another five months by the decision of the Sabail District Court.

An application has been made to the court regarding the extension of the restraining order against Ruben Vardanyan, the state minister of the former so-called formation in Karabakh.

According to Report, the petition of the State Security Service General Investigation Department, where the criminal investigation is conducted, is being considered in the Sabail District Court.

Ruben Vardanyan was detained in Karabakh last year and brought to Baku.

He was charged under articles 214-1 (financing terrorism), 279.3 (participation in the creation and activity of armed groups or groups not provided for by law) and 318.1 (illegally crossing the state border of the Republic of Azerbaijan) of the Criminal Code.

Recently, the BBC and other foreign media organizations released extensive research materials exposing Ruben Vardanyan's money laundering schemes and other actions in different countries.
