Azerbaijan successfully provided all the necessary conditions for conducting early parliamentary elections at a high level, according to Leonid Anfimov, the head of the CIS observer mission.
Speaking at a press conference on Monday, Anfimov highlighted that the CIS observers' reports noted the well-coordinated work of the election commissions and the near absence of violations. "There was calm and coordinated work by the election commissions, and violations were practically non-existent. The authorities ensured all conditions for holding the elections at a high level," he stated.
On election day, CIS observers visited a large number of polling stations across 16 cities and districts of Azerbaijan, including the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and the cities of Baku, Ganja, Khankandi, Shusha, and Aghdam. Anfimov reported that the voting process was conducted in a peaceful atmosphere, in an organized and transparent manner.
He mentioned that isolated incidents were registered with representatives of opposition parties who disagreed with the voting process at some polling stations. However, these incidents did not significantly impact the overall conduct of the elections.
