The revival of revanchist forces in Armenia and the recent activation of remnants of the separatist regime prove that Armenia has still not abandoned or does not want to abandon its traditional role and prefers to be an instrument in foreign hands, chairman of the Western Azerbaijan Community (WAC), deputy Aziz Alakbarli told Report.
He noted that over the past 200 years, the forces on which Armenia relied gave it a lot, for the first time in history Armenians were even given the opportunity to create a state: "The world Armenian community convinced several generations of the possibility of realizing the mythical idea of a 'greater Armenia'. However, as a result of a sudden blow, the 200-year 'strategy' was destroyed."
The deputy considers it abnormal that Armenia has not learned lessons from Azerbaijan's successful one-day anti-terrorist operation. According to Alakbarli, Armenia's disagreement with the liquidation of the Minsk Group is clear evidence that it still considers the "Nagorno-Karabakh issue" unresolved, which is a clear threat to the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
The WAC chairman also touched upon the issue of Azerbaijanis expelled from Armenia in 1987-1991, emphasizing that they have a fundamental right to return to their native homes in Armenia: "The number of Azerbaijanis expelled from Armenia over the past 100 years and their descendants in Azerbaijan today is in the millions. They are all united in the Western Azerbaijan Community and insist on returning to their native lands in Armenia."
