Azerbaijani citizens residing abroad should return to the country to vote in the upcoming snap parliamentary elections, Mazahir Panahov, the Chairman of Azerbaijan's Central Election Commission (CEC), told journalists, Report informs.
Panahov made an appeal to the Azerbaijani diaspora, noting that there will be voting at nearly 6,400 polling stations across Azerbaijan.
He urged Azerbaijani citizens living in foreign countries to make every effort to be in the country on the election day and cast their votes for their candidates.
According to Azerbaijan's election laws, polling stations are not established in foreign countries for parliamentary elections, and no overseas voting is conducted.
