Azerbaijani State Security Service marks 103rd anniversary

Events were held to mark the 103rd anniversary of the establishment of Azerbaijan's State Security Service, Report informs citing the website of the State Security Service (SSS).

On March 28, Chief of the State Security Service, Colonel-General Ali Nagiyev, members of the board, and the leadership of the service paid homage to the grave of national leader Heydar Aliyev in the Alley of Honor and honored his memory. The memory of the outstanding ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva was also honored and flowers were laid on her grave.

Flowers were also put at the graves of the heroic sons of the Motherland in the Alley of Martyrs, who gave their lives in the struggle for the independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. Employees of the SSS, who died during the first Karabakh war, were also honored.
