Azerbaijan is happy to have won, to have been restored as a nation and a state and to have become even prouder and stronger by uniting around the Victorious Commander-In-Chief, President Ilham Aliyev, Adil Aliyev, Deputy Speaker of Milli Majlis, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Youth and Sports, told Report.

He said that every people, nation and state faces various challenges throughout its history.

"Their further fate, success or failure, development or underdevelopment depend on how they respond to the challenges. When we say 'challenges,' we do not mean any usual problems, difficulties or threats. Challenges are also a trial for national identity and pride. You can be broken, crushed and humiliated in the face of challenges, or you can become a prouder, stronger and more resilient nation."

Aliyev noted that the next challenge facing Azerbaijan is the return of residents to the liberated lands: "The march of Victory which started in the fights and trenches of the Patriotic War, now continues with determination in the sphere of international diplomacy, in the restoration of Karabakh and East Zangazur. This is proven by the busy schedule of foreign visits of President Ilham Aliyev and the activity in the liberated Karabakh and East Zangazur. The visits of the head of state to Bulgaria, Czechia, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Georgia and Algeria, as well as the meetings and speeches in these countries over the past few weeks should be especially noted."

The MP reminded that the tripartite statement of the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia in Sochi dated October 31, 2022, stresses the importance of signing a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

"The Sochi meeting is dated to the second anniversary of the tripartite statement of November 10, 2020. The November 10 statement was signed as a result of Azerbaijan's victory in the Patriotic War. This victory ensured the restoration of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. The Sochi declaration, as the main principle, once again notes the mutual recognition of the territorial integrity and inviolability of borders. Speaking at the summit of the League of Arab States, President Ilham Aliyev specifically noted that Azerbaijan put an end to the 30-year occupation by Armenia on its own and won. The head of state noted that the violence and atrocities France committed against Algeria reminded him of the crimes and atrocities committed by Armenia against Azerbaijan and Azerbaijanis," he said.

The vice speaker noted that the return to Jojug Marjanli after the April battles in 2016 was the first sign of the Great Return: "The first residents have already returned to the smart village of Aghali in the Zangilan district. The Great Return has already begun. New international airports have started operating in Fuzuli and Zangilan. Construction of Horadiz-Aghband railway and Barda-Aghdam railway are in full swing. The Victory Road and other roads have been put into operation, new ones are being built. So, Azerbaijan re-emerged on Victory Day, which became the culmination of the Patriotic War."
