Azerbaijan may consider establishing Mother's Day

The issue of establishing Mother's Day may be considered in Azerbaijan, Chairperson of the State Committee on Family, Women and Children Bahar Muradova told Report.

Muradova noted that Mother's Day and other special days are celebrated today in a number of countries around the world. According to her, in Azerbaijan mothers are usually congratulated on March 8 - International Women's Day.

"The issue of establishing Mother’s Day is sometimes raised in Azerbaijan but is not discussed so actively. If, as a result of public discussions, everyone comes to a common opinion that we must have such a day, then we can consider the issue of establishing it. In any case, this decision will depend on society," Muradova said.
