Azerbaijan introduces new coordinate system for geodetic work

A new international coordinate system — WGS-84 based on the UTM projection — will be used in all types of geodetic, gravimetric, topographic, cartographic, and cadastral work in Azerbaijan, regardless of their purpose.

According to Report, President Ilham Aliyev has signed the corresponding decree.

For ongoing projects that were launched on other systems, their use will continue until the completion of the work.
